About Us
Welcome to the wonderful world of Discovery
Post, a heart-felt company that started literally on the kitchen
floor! Yes, the floor. I shall digress to let this story unfold…
The still bone-chilling winds of March brought
me into my brother and sister in-laws home, where my youngest
niece was in intensive care. I was so honored to stay with her
for a time, sitting with her, singing, reading stories perhaps
more to soothe my soul - as with so many of these visits, there
were lots of tubes, IV’s, drips and equipment to help her breathe.
It puts life into perspective - as family continued the 24-hour
vigil that each of these stays brings.
So, on that early Sunday morning, as I got
back into ‘home’ from the hospital I found myself crawling around
on the kitchen floor playing with my 3 year-old niece and brother.
We were exploring a large map of the US and learning her favorite
states - so normal, so present, just an ‘it is what it is‘ situation.
They were dealing with a really sick sister, and daughter, and
at that moment it’s ok.
As I traveled back to my own home, I wanted
to cling onto that intense connection – I wanted to send her something
she would find fantastical and allow us to reconnect in a special
way. My mind was whirling with ideas and imagining her face when
she opened the mailbox!
So here we are, a few years older, with a
burgeoning new company filled with products created together with
award-winning artists and photographers from around the world.
I wanted to create a company centered on three things:
- Creating products
that are Fun to Give and A
Blast to Get – making Discover Packs a great way for
people to connect.
- Delivering high
quality, educational and fun series people are passionate
about (young and old alike)!
- Giving
Back 5% of Discovery Post’s net profits go to charities
that make the world a better place.
